Ulrich Schmack founded the Donau Donkeys in 2020 and is the driving force behind the cargo bike-sharing system. Coming from the renewable energy sector, he has also developed the necessary public charging infrastructure for his electric bikes, which either tap into existing power sources like streetlights or operate entirely independently using solar panels. With the Donau Donkeys’ cargo bikes, Ulrich’s primary goal is to enable people to transport children and belongings for which a car is typically used. A broad network of hosts, many of whom are volunteers, ensures the system’s high quality, as there are always plenty of eyes keeping watch over the bikes.

Karim works as a Sales Director at NECTURE, where he focuses on building strategic partnerships and driving the growth of innovative mobility solutions. With a background in business and digital business, as well as experience in key account management and team leadership, he has worked across international markets and complex B2B environments. He is particularly interested in connecting business, technology, and user needs to support more sustainable and efficient mobility systems.
