Connecting the missing pieces to make shared mobility the new normal for all
Shared mobility is growing fast, but it still doesn’t work for everyone.
This session opens with a short roleplay that puts the shared mobility system under pressure. Two users arrive on shared bikes and e-scooters, proud and showing how easy shared mobility is for them, until the cracks appear. In conversation with an expert, they learn the truth about: who is left behind, what is shared mobility really solving, and what is missing in today’s systems.
The audience then takes over in a hands-on workshop, guided by SMALL’s Inclusive Shared Mobility Planning Guide. In small mixed groups (cities, operators, planners, innovators), participants map stakeholders (who is included, who is excluded). They then co-design concrete measures to improve inclusion and increase uptake of shared mobility.
Participants leave with the Inclusive shared mobility planning guide as a practical tool to support internal discussions and help move decision-makers from intention to implementation.
